Top 5 Rules you should never break when You Go Wedding Dress Shopping
Shopping Shopping for your wedding dress is one of the most momentous occasions, but it requires a little bit of careful planning and some key background knowledge to feel ready for the fitting room.
Here are 5 top recommendations that will help you shop like a pro.
First Rule
I highly recommend wearing comfortable and flesh tone undergarments. Preferably seamless. Very hard to focus on your gown when your red underwear keeps distracting you, or if you're wearing a fitted gown and your underwear is cutting into your backside. If you’re looking to add some support or smooth over certain areas, bringing shapewear to your appointment will also minimize any questions you might have about how they will look under any gown, especially if you find one you love. It may also help reduce the number of alterations you may have otherwise thought you needed.
Secondly Rule
Secondly, in speaking about support be sure to bring people with you that are going to be supportive of your decisions. Too many bridesmaids/families come with the bride projecting themselves on the bride and not showing any enthusiasm or support for anything the bride selects that they don’t like.
This is your moment!. Don’t let them steal your thunder.
If you see a gown that catches your attention, or the consultant may suggest – give it a shot.
Third Rule
Take photos. Whether you’re the bride that needs to sleep on it or you want to put an album together later photos make a great keepsake of your experience.
Don’t forget to include your bride tribe in some of the photos.
Fourth Rule
Be sure to do your research about the salon you plan to visit. You don’t want to be rushed. It is important for the consultant working with you to understand your budget and your vision for your special day.
Fifth Rule
Most important of all is to come with an open mind. I have worked with many brides that come in wanting boho and then try on a simplistic gown and fall in love. As the saying goes, you don’t know until you try.
If you see a gown that catches your attention, or the consultant may suggest – give it a shot.
